  • Debbie Knotts, CFP®, CLU®

    Debbie Knotts joined Albion in 1987, and serves as a Vice President and Senior Wealth Advisor. Her knowledge, intuitive nature, and compassion have produced strong, successful relationships with clients, many of which she has had for over twenty years.

    Beginning with the initial establishment of advisory relationships, Debbie provides ongoing advice on a broad range of financial topics.  She specializes in the coordination of clients' financial issues in business planning, estate planning, risk mitigation and retirement.  Debbie is also very involved in the community, most recently serving as a board member on the Planned Gifts Committee for Primary Children’s Medical Center. 

    Debbie’s success is due in part to her ability to get deeply involved and collaborate with co-workers, clients, related professionals, and the community in her effort to create the best possible outcome for the situation at hand. 

    She approaches her personal life with the same passion and vigor as her work; she always has great stories to share. Anything that involves travel and adventure is right up Debbie’s alley. Winters, when she is not at work, you can find her skiing at the Alta Ski Resort. Summers, well you can probably find her in Alta as well, out hiking after the snow has melted.

  • Sarah Bird, CFP®

    Senior Wealth Advisor

    Bachelor of Science in Human Development, Psychology Minor; University of Utah

    A Utah native, Sarah Bird joined the Albion Team in 1999. She loves the experience of working with clients as they establish, progress towards, and accomplish their goals. Sarah works with several multi-generation client families and enjoys serving as a sounding board and guide to these clients as they transition family values toward money from one generation to the next. She is always excited to learn about new ideas and processes in the financial advising world, and is always willing to jump in and help.

     

    Continuing education and personal development are among her passions. Her commitment in these areas shows in her engagement in several youth and teen leadership and development projects in the community. 

     

    Outside of the office, Sarah and her husband can be found exploring the world and undertaking new and exciting adventures with her boys, giving them unique experiences and learning opportunities. Sarah is also a regular volunteer in her sons' classrooms, and a regular at her early morning pilates class.  

  • Devin Pope, CFP®, MBA

    Devin Pope brings a unique combination of experience and insight to our team. He especially enjoys helping each client research, evaluate, and understand different investment, tax, estate, and retirement strategies. 

    The diversity of Devin’s professional experience allows him to provide unbiased and valuable advice to the clients with whom he works. While working as a Paraplanner in California, Devin earned his securities and life insurance licenses.  He has experience as a part-time real estate agent—which increased his knowledge of investments outside of public securities—and as a financial advisor helping clients with insurance and investment products.

    Devin’s previous work experience in the financial services industry gives him great appreciation for the Albion model; a fee-only approach where he can bring his unique understanding of a broad range of financial planning topics and the complex interactions among them to bear on behalf of each client. He also shares his vast knowledge volunteer teaching financial literacy classes at the YWCA.

    Devin enjoys spending time with his wife, daughter and son and experiencing all the natural wonders Utah has to offer. He is an avid golfer and likes to travel.  

  • Liz Bernhard, CFP®, MBA

    Since joining Albion in 2009, Liz Bernhard has continued the tradition of collaborating with others on the Albion team on behalf of her clients.  She works diligently to understand the nuances of each issue her clients face in order to bring about the best possible solution.  Liz began her career at Albion as an Associate Wealth Advisor, where she learned our systems and procedures, and in 2011 transitioned to the role of Senior Wealth Advisor. Throughout her tenure, she has consistently demonstrated that she’s an eager and quick learner. Liz obtained her CFP® license to compliment her MBA from Westminster College.

    Originally from Michigan, Liz moved to Utah after college to enjoy the skiing. After spending a few years working and skiing in Alta, she now skis as many weekends as her schedule will allow. Liz is well rounded in her extracurricular activities, enjoying the creativity of the kitchen as well as the pleasures of hiking and camping in the diverse environments of the great state of Utah.

  • Michelle Buxton

    Michelle Buxton has built an extensive background in client service and financial advising since joining the team at Albion Financial Group in 2005. In the process, Michelle has developed a particular aptitude for solving complex, one-of-a-kind issues. Prior to her role as a Senior Wealth Advisor Michelle served as an Associate Wealth Advisor, building many longstanding relationships with Albion’s client families.  As a Senior Wealth Advisor, Michelle works daily to implement of each of her clients’ specific investment and financial planning goals aiming to guide her clients to a lifetime of good decisions.

    Michelle appreciates learning new skills and expanding her horizons, both professionally and personally. She is currently attending the University of Utah where she pursuing a double major in Human Development and Consumer and Community Studies with an emphasis in Financial Planning. To further advance her studies, Michelle will soon seek her Certified Financial Planner® designation. Recreationally, Michelle enjoys mountain biking, snowboarding, and traveling with her husband and two children.

  • Eleanor Sasaki

    Associate Wealth Advisor

    Eleanor Sasaki joined Albion Financial Group in 2000. Eleanor has the ability to make client processes effortless and comfortable. Her caring approach comes through in each and every client relationship. She is sure to give clients the attention they desire, and to follow through on each task or request to completion. From opening new accounts to cash flow planning, she and her team ensure that client needs are met, that clients are informed of the progress, and that her efforts are properly documented. In addition to her daily duties, Eleanor enjoys planning and organizing client appreciation and other client specific events sponsored by Albion Financial Group.

    Eleanor is enjoying her new-found freedom after raising her two sons. She and her husband love to travel and experience new cultures, continents, and cuisine. She also enjoys boating, relaxing in the sun and, on occasion, a good dose of shopping.

  • Peggy Knodel

    Associate Wealth Advisor

    Peggy Knodel joined Albion in 2010. She has an extensive background in sales, marketing, and customer service. Approaching each challenge with immense compassion and attention to detail, Peggy has flourished in her rapport with clients and co-workers. She works directly with Albion's Senior Wealth Advisors to ensure clients' needs are met in a timely and accurate manner. She is easy to talk to and is always available to handle whatever task may arrive.

     

    In her spare time, Peggy and her husband share a passion for preserving and driving antique automobiles. She also enjoys cooking, boating and traveling with friends and family.

  • David Clark

    Associate Wealth Advisor

    Bachelor of Arts in Middle East Studies / Arabic, Brigham Young University

    David Clark joined Albion in October 2015 as an Associate Wealth Advisor and works closely with Senior Wealth Advisor Liz Bernhard.  David’s dedication to client service was engrained during his time on the Apple Genius Bar, providing one-on-one technical assistance and preserving customer confidence.  David’s thoughtful and thorough nature is apparent in each of his interactions with our clients.  He has quickly picked up on the world of investing and financial planning as he has a strong aptitude for learning.

    David has quite the ear for foreign language and is proficient in Spanish, Arabic, and Catalan.  David has spent time teaching both English and Spanish at the Egyptian International American School.  David’s native tongue is quite refined as well; his vocabulary continues to amaze us as evidenced by his advanced skill with New York Times crossword puzzles.  In his spare time, David volunteers with the Salt Lake Film Society at the Broadway Centre Cinema.


  • Mallory Davis

    Associate Wealth Advisor

    Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Human Development, University of Utah

    Mallory Davis joined the Albion team in November 2016 as an Associate Wealth Advisor working closely with Senior Wealth Advisor Michelle Buxton. In her client service role, Mallory contributes an academic understanding of interpersonal relationships after completing her university studies in the fields of psychology as well as human development and family studies.  Mallory brings a close attention to detail and self-motivation to Albion after honing her professional skills through previous roles in the complex worlds of engineering and social work.

    Outside of Albion, Mallory enjoys spending time with her family where you’ll often find her building forts and Lego sets with her son. Biographies are Mallory’s preferred reading materials and she turns to documentaries for her viewing pleasure.  With a love for the outdoors, Mallory joins the ranks of her Albion peers with a strong appreciation for Utah’s wilderness. 

  • Danielle Gregory

    Wealth Builder Advisor

    Bachelor of Science in Politics, University of Utah

    Danielle serves as coordinator of the Albion Wealth Builder offering, a role that includes introducing new Albion clients to Wealth Builder, managing the onboarding process for those clients, and working with the investment team to ensure each Wealth Builder portfolio is properly allocated per the client investment policy. On an ongoing basis Dani provides Wealth Builder clients with investment and financial guidance to keep them on track toward their personal financial goals. Dani is a member of the Women of Albion Team, a group of Albion staff focused on the distinct requirements of Albion’s women clients. She is also engaged with our millennial initiative which adapts the tools, techniques and communication channels of Albion to the requirements of the millennial generation.

    Dani began her career at Albion in 2011 as an Associate Wealth Advisor, where she gained experience in wealth advising and Albion’s investment management process. In 2015, Dani transitioned to her current role as Wealth Builder Advisor where she assists clients in the wealth accumulation phase of life. Dani combines intelligence and insight with a true desire to help our clients reach their financial objectives.

    Outside of work, Dani enjoys being active and spending time with her friends and family.  Her appetite for activity is robust. She is an active swimmer, having been a competitor in the sport for twelve years and a member of the University of Utah swim team. Yet swimming is not enough – she also enjoys running marathons and participating in CrossFit competitions.

Our Wealth Management Team consists of Senior Wealth Advisors, Associate Wealth Advisors, and firm principals. This team works with clients to ensure their financial concerns are addressed in an integrated fashion, that pieces of the overall plan are working in concert, and that tactical changes are made to stay on track toward each client’s goals. They guide long-term financial success through years of good decisions. As part of this process, an Investment Policy Statement is developed, which becomes the blueprint for the efforts of the investment team’s work on the client’s behalf.
