Jason Ware, MBA, BFA™

Jason Ware is the Chief Investment Officer (CIO) for Albion Financial Group, joining in the spring of 2008. His leadership as CIO guides the firm and our clients through complex and ever-changing markets through a rigorous investment approach underpinned by an unwavering core long-term investment philosophy. Specifically, a thorough blend of macroeconomic and sector research, individual security selection, and an overlay of studying the psychology and behavioral biases behind investing informs his process. With two decades of experience, Jason’s work is the foundation for Albion’s portfolio management strategies and forms the basis for the firm’s opinions and outlook on the economy and financial markets.

Jason holds the esteemed Behavioral Financial Advisor (BFA™) designation. His academic background includes an MBA from Westminster where his work was recognized by Delta Mu Delta – an international honor society in business founded at NYU – as well as a Bachelor of Science in economics from the University of Utah.

With a deep understanding of financial markets and its economic underpinnings, Jason has a vigorous work ethic and enjoys looking deep to discover new investment ideas. His knack for sizing up good investments, identifying market trends, and thoughtful views on the world economy has distinguished him as a recurrent resource for the financial press – frequently quoted in articles from Reuters, The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, American Banker, both The New York & LA Times, and Barron’s magazine. Jason is also a frequent guest across several flagship CNBC programs (both domestic and international), Cheddar TV, Yahoo Finance TV, TD Ameritrade Network, CNA Asia, and PBS’ storied ‘Nightly Business Report’. Local press includes Deseret News, KSL TV, KSL NewsRadio, and KPCW.

Jason is on the (Advancement) Board for the College of Social & Behavioral Sciences at the University of Utah. He is also an honored inductee (2017) of Utah Business Magazine’s ‘Forty Under 40’ list of executives and business leaders to watch.

Outside of the office, Jason loves spending time with his brilliant wife and their two kids (a son and daughter); spending time in Oceanside (CA); and staying physically active across a variety of pursuits. An avid reader, and a constant student of the world, Jason enjoys ever broadening his knowledge base.
